The artic-cold and drifting snow has severely restricted travel across much of Indiana.

Newton, Benton, White, Fountain, and Tippecanoe counties are under Travel Warnings. Travel is not recommended.
The roaring wind Sunday night and this morning has blowing and drifting a problem. County routes are especially an issue. Some school districts are already announcing they'll be closed again Tuesday.

Reports of three-foot drifts find many roads impassable. Tippecanoe County Sheriff Tracy Brown said most of the roads in the county are drifted shut and impassible. He said there are two and three foot drifts on most roads. This even includes the major highways, like the new U.S. 231 and the Hoosier Heartland.

Sheriff deputies and state police were out Sunday helping people who were stranded and assisting with slide-offs and crashes.

That travel warning means that travel is restricted to emergency management workers only.
