A $1 million bond was set (Monday) for Kathleen Kirkpatrick of Kankakee for the weekend death of her mother. Kirkpatrick is accused of stabbing and killing her 89-year-old mother, Kathleen Ruch, Saturday at the home the two shared on South Greenwood Avenue.

The 61-year-old Kirkpatrick allegedly told 9-1-1 dispatcher she ‘just killed her mother.’ The Kankakee County Coroner’s Office reported the cause of death was multiple stab wounds.
