Bond set at $500,000 for Watseka shooting

A 25-year-old Watseka man is jailed on a half-million dollar bond for the weekend shooting that left a woman hospitalized. Jerry Pintelon is being held in the Iroquois County Jail. He's facing two felony charges for attempted murder and 2-counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm.

The victim, 20-year-old Kyliee Schwartz, was listed in stable condition at Carle Hospital in Urbana. She was shot three times late Saturday in a domestic dispute, according to a neighbor.

Watseka Police answered a call about shots fired at a residence in the 100-block of E. Ash Street.

In Iroquois Circuit Court (Monday), Judge James Kinzer listened to the charges read by Assistant State's Attorney Kara Macz. Kinzer agreed to the $500,000 bond for attempted murder, which could carry a 6-30 year prison term, if convicted. The felony charge of aggravated discharge of a firearm could lead to 4-15 years.

A status hearing on the case is scheduled for September 3rd.
