Authorities are working to identify bone fragments found in the backyard of a home in Wheatfield, Indiana. The Jasper County Sheriff's office says the discovery was made Monday after authorities began investigating a report last month that an individual confessed to killing two undocumented children and burning their bodies in a backyard fire pit at the same home. The suspect has denied knowledge of the incident, however, the undocumented child who was in their care was taken into protective custody. Authorities believe the bone fragments belong to an infant or an animal.
