Mike Bossert was re-elected Tuesday to a new two-year term as Chairman of the Kankakee Board. Bossert won the approval of the board members on an 18-9 vote.

The challenge came from 15th district board member Andy Wheeler. After the vote, Wheeler said 'the leadership should know, the public is watching.' Bossert said he and the board are up to the challenge ahead.

Matt Whitus was elected Vice-Chair.

New members taking their oaths were Sam Payton of District 4, Janice Peters representing District 8 and Sally Evans from District 12.
