Kankakee County officials were investigating the death of a Bourbonnais husband and wife in what’s being called a domestic issue. Police and the county coroner were called (Monday) to a residence on Cherokee Drive. A couple found in a bedroom of the home stirred the investigation.

Bourbonnais P report the bodies of 48-year-old Larry Menz Jr. and 46-year-old Ruth Menz were found in the couple’s home by members of the Kankakee County Emergency Response Team.

Bourbonnais officers responded to a welfare check requesr from the father of Larry Menz.  The Kankakee County Coroner’s Office said autopsies are scheduled for Tuesday.

Bourbonnais Police Chief Jim Phelps said in a news release there was a verbal altercation between the couple. The couple had a history of domestic problems dating back to 2008.
