In federal court in Urbana, two men were sentenced for enticing minors for sexual relationships. 38-year-old Timothy Dean of Bourbonnais was handed a 10-year federal prison term followed by 8 years of supervised release. A federal jury convicted him in April after the FBI identified Dean when he arranged to meet an individual believed to be a 14-year-old minor for sexual activity on a dating application.
Dean's been in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service. The FBI conducted an investigation in cooperation with Bradley Police, Kankakee County Sheriff's Office and KAMEG. The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative.
Also sentenced to 10 years in prison and 10 more years of supervised release for Enticement of a Minor was 36-year-old Michael Turner of Rantoul. Illinois State Police investigated online communications Turner was engaging in with a 16-year-old girl.
