Bourbonnais shooting injures 17-year-old

Bourbonnais Police report a shooting Monday injured a 17-year-old and a 24-year-old man faces weapon charges. A Court hearing is scheduled today (Wed) for Darrid Britton of Kankakee. He’s charged with aggravated battery in discharging a firearm.

Bourbonnais Acting-Police Chief Dave Anderson states in a press release the shooting happened in the 1000-block of E. Stratford Drive (Monday afternoon). An altercation between Britton and the 17-year-old victim led to the shooting.

The victim suffered gunshot wounds to his face and upper body, Anderson said. The victim was being treated at a Chicago hospital.
Chief Anderson reported this was an isolated incident between the two parties. There is no threat to the public.
