Bourbonnais woman faces DUI after mishap in rural Clifton

Twenty-two year-old Alyssa Breckenridge will have to answer to drunken driving charges after running her vehicle thru a yard and into a corn field in Iroquois County.

Breckenridge was arrested by Iroquois County Sheriff's Police Wednesday. Police report the mishap occurred west of Route 45/52 at County road 3000N.

The woman was southbound on Route 45 when she negotiated a turn into a residential yard. She continued into a cornfield, attempted a U-turn in the field, then drove into a steep ditch embankment. She reported no injury. She did fail a field sobriety test.

Chebanse Township Fire and Riverside Ambulance personnel assisted police at the scene.
