The late Brett Barragree's name will live on amongst the family and friends of the Watseka Area Firefighters Association.
A $500 dollar start-up fund will help the 'Brett Barragree Memorial Education Fund' assist others in pursuing their education in emergency firefighting/paramedic fields.
Brett died this last year of cancer. He was an active member of the emergency response families, a members of the Watseka and Woodland fire departments and the IMH and Riverside Ambulance teams. He was also a Coast Guard veteran, devoted to emergency services and helping others.
Brett's dad, Ken Barragree, and Brett's son, Cameron, were on hand at the fire department annual banquet Saturday. They presented the $500 donation to start the Memorial Fund in Brett's name.
