Bridge work in Iroquois County closes township route

Iroquois County road 1200 N, northeast of Woodworth, is closed to traffic beginning today (Monday 8/17). The bridge on 1200 N. between 1500 E in Crescent Township and 1600 E in Ash Grove Township will remain closed for the next two-three weeks.

Deteriorated wooden beams are being replaced with steel beams to extend the life of the bridge, built in 1973.

Ash Grove Township Road Commissioner Jay Zbinden said the repairs are being made by the Ash Grove and Crescent Township commissioners in order to save tax dollars.
