Brody Adams wins WGFA’s 50th Iroquois County Spelling Contest

Cissna Park 6th-grader Brody Adams is the 2016 Iroquois County Spelling Champ. Brody is an anniversary winner – the 50th WGFA 5th - 6th Grade Spelling Bee winner.

And he gets it done on Friday the 13th ! Brody's forever lucky day !!

Brody bested the field of 20 contestants to earn the championship trophy. The Cissna Park Unit #6 school district can boast of having the top speller this year.

As to listened in on 94.1 WGFA with pronouncer Don Elliott, Brody gets it done after 2nd place finisher Kaylee Brosseau stumbled on the word "aviator.

Brody then correctly spelled aviator and followed that by spelling the word nervous --- to win the bee.

Kaylee Brosseau and two other students from the Unit #4 Nash Middle School finished in the top five.

Tyler Balthazor and Jonah Hendrickson were respective 4th and 5th place spellers. And 6th grader Robyn McIntyre of Iroquois West finished in 3rd place.
