Business Groups: 2017 Session Worst Ever

Illinois' business leaders say the spring of 2017 is one of the worst legislative sessions they've ever seen. The Illinois Manufacturers' Association, the Illinois Chamber, and the National Federation of Independent Businesses all said yesterday that lawmakers in Springfield made it much tougher for job creators this year. The groups point to the vote to raise the minimum wage to 15 dollars-an-hour, votes for new income taxes, and the proposed tax for the 'privilege' of doing business in the state. The NFIB's Mark Grant says they're not surprised by the legislature's anti business stance. He said they're simply fed up.             (Metro News}
