Busy weekend of fun ...

There's more summer fun this weekend --- Cissna Park's Old Settlers Reunion, the Ashkum Homecoming, Fried Green Tomato Festival at Iroquois, Aroma Park's 2025 Two Rivers Festival, Gibson City's Summer Bash, and the conclusion of the Illinois State Fair --- all happening in our listening area.  Also in Chicago the Air & Water Show !

In memory of Tim Portwood, the Fried Green Tomato Festival Saturday features Kids Activities in Dunning Park, Truck & Tractor Pulls, Car Show, Food Vendors and Live Music. All the proceeds benefit local organizations.

The Old Settlers Reunion at Cissna Park featured a Talent Show Thursday evening. Free Entertainment, Bingo, Kiddie Tractor Pulls and Swyear Amusements on the Midway are classic events today (Friday) and Saturday.  The Old Settlers Parade is at Noon Saturday and the Drawing Saturday night for a New Car or $20,000 Cash.

Ashkum's Annual Homecoming offers two days of fun Saturday and Sunday, August 16 and 17th.  The Parade theme Saturday at 10 am is "Once Upon a Small Town."  The Lions Club event also features Food Stands, Craft Show, Kids events, including Touch a Truck, Bingo and a Beer Garden.  A Classic Car Show is Sunday Noon - 3 pm.  All the features can be found on the Ashkum FB page.

Two Rivers Festival at Aroma Park is along Front Street Friday and Saturday. Food & Craft Vendors are set up, Kids games and inflatables, a Car Show Saturday is from 11 am 'til 3 pm, Watermelon and Pie Eating Contests are Saturday, Fireworks at Dusk.  The Anthem Band performs 8 - 11 pm.  More info at tworiversfestival.com

Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services sponsors its Summer Bash downtown Gibson City Saturday.  Just $10 for tickets to see Foreigner and John Waite.
