The vacated Senate seat of Illinois Senator Jason Barickman has potential candidates lining up to fill the term.  Republican Party Chairmen will meet to interview the candidates at a January 7 meeting in Livingston County.  Barickman announced his retirement earlier this month.  A 10 am meeting is scheduloed at the Elks Lodge in Pontiac.  

State Representative Tom Bennett plans to submit his name for the post.  Bennett has served the House legislative district, working with Barickman in central Illinois.  Potential candidates have until January 5 to apply for the job.
