An interstate crash involving a truck carrying cattle that happened early Wednesday resulted in several cattle being killed.
Illinois State Police reported the truck driver was westbound on I-74 about 2:40 am. 29-year-old James D. Carmack was driving a livestock hauler when he ran off the road, struck the median cable and overturned.
State police cited Carmack for improper lane usage.
Carmack was carrying 65 head of cattle.
Carmack was taken to Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
