Chamber Exec, Hibbs, and Pence family earn praise at Annual Chamber Award Ceremony in Watseka

Amanda Hibbs, the Watseka Area Chamber of Commerce leader, has earned herself the honor of Citizen of the Year. Recognized Wednesday evening by the Watseka Times-Republic, Hibbs herself was pleasantly surprised at the annual Watseka Area Chamber of Commerce Awards banquet.

Amanda is the long-time Exec Director of the Chamber of Commerce. She’s earned the Citizen of the Year honor for her tireless efforts, leading and organizing so many community events. She says she loves it and plans to continue.

Amanda is also the Watseka City Clerk, recently re-elected to a 4-year term.

Terry & Rhonda Pence are recognized as the Lifetime Achievement Award winners. The Mr & Mrs Team are life-long Watseka residents and active citizens. Together, they serve the community in so many ways….Rhonda a retired member of the Iroquois Federal team and business leader; also a valued member of the IMH Board of Directors.

Terry is a new member of the Watseka City Council, serving the 3rd Ward. He also served nearly 30 years as a member of the City Police Commission. He’s a recent-retiree, having a business owner and operator with the Pence Oil Co., now Heritage FS.

Together, Terry & Rhonda have been active supporters of community and school events – and always as a team.

The annual Chamber get-together held last evening at the Silo & Pub downtown Watseka.
