Paxton Police announced the arrest of a 26-year-old Decatur man in a recent child predator sting. Dylan Conerty was under surveillance since early August of 2022 when it was learned that he contacted a 14-year-old girl. Police reported an investigation led to arrest warrants and Conerty was arrested during a traffic stop December 29. Charges include Traveling to meet a minor, Indecent solicitation of a child, and Exploitation of a child.

At least 11 other men have been arrested as a result of police stings involving officers posing as teenagers online and arranging meetings. The stings have been successful in neighboring Livingston County thru the County’s Proactive Unit.
