Christmas events in Kankakee County

Kankakee Mayor Chris Curtis welcomes the public to the annual tree-kighting Thursday evening, December 2.  The gathering at the Kankakee Public Library starts it off at 5:30 followed by a short walk over the Railroad Depot in the Harold & Jean Miner Plaza.  Santa Claus makes his appearance at the Fountain for the tree-lighting.  Refreshments will be included.

Perry Farm Christmas  --

"Christmas at the Farm" offers plenty of holiday fun at the Perry Farm Barn Saturday, December 4.  Activities are from 9 am 'til 4 pm.  The Bourbonnais Township Park District offers a holiday setting with Santa Claus available for photos.  Several events are part of the fun.

Village of Bourbonnais welcomes Santa --

Bourbonnais Tree Lighting Thursday evening is a new annual tradition planned.  Mayor Paul Schore says the event will take place on the triangle at the corner of Main and Main Northwest.  A Tree Lighting is at 6 pm in the triangle along Route 102.  Local vendors will offer holiday refreshments.  


Christmas in Manteno is Saturday --

Santa Claus arrives in the Village of Manteno this Saturday. Several events are part of the holiday season… begging at 3 pm and running thru 8 pm in the downtown areas.
Santa sleighs down Main Street at 3:45 pm That’s during a Holiday Business Walk from 3 – 5:45 pm. Downtown retailers welcome shoppers for the holiday specials.

An Ice Sculpture Demo at the Fountain is planned 3:30 – 5 pm.

Santa welcomes visitors at Christmas Tree Lane 4 – 8 pm. The Downtown Lighting Ceremony at the Stage is at 6 pm.

Several groups participate in the Holiday Spirit from 4 pm ‘til 8 pm The Entertainment Schedule includes: The Manteno High School Chamber singers near Santa’s House at 4 pm. The River Valley Pipes & Drums perform at 4:30. The Manteno High School Jazz Ensemble is on stage at 5 pm. Dance Alive is at the Stage at 5:30. And it wraps up with Acoustic Artist Todd Hazelrigg on Stage at 6:15.

Several area businesses are sponsoring the day’s events.
