Saturday's downpour had flood waters flowing through businesses and devastating Cissna Park. The community is cleaning up today (Monday) while more rain is in the forecast. Rainfall amounts recorded include over 6 inches in Paxton. Five plus inches were reported from WGFA / WIBK Heritage F-S Rain Guage reporters at Cissna Park, Milford, Watseka, Wellington and Crescent City. The Route 1 viaduct at Milford was closed due to excessive flooding.
Iroquois County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Coordinator Scott Anderson advises motorists to be aware of standing water on several routes. Some barricades remain in place from the weekend, although flash flooding had backed off. Water-filled ditches may yet be on the rise in usual flood-prone areas.
The NWS had posted a Flood Advisory thru mid-morning for portions of Iroquois, Ford and Livingston counties due to excessive rainfall.
