A 12-yr-old Cissna Park has died of injuries from a traffic c accident over the weekend.

Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup is releasing the name 12 year old Jacob Rose. He was a passenger involved in a single motor vehicle crash in Iroquois County Saturday near Cissna Park. The boy was pronounced dead at 12:41pm Sunday at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, according to Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup.

Jacob was reportedly ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Preliminary results from an autopsy conducted today indicate Jacob died from traumatic injuries he sustained during the crash.

This death is being investigated by the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Department and the Champaign County Coroner’s Office.
