Cissna Park man arrested after high-speed polcie chase

Iroquois County Sheriff's Police assisted Hoopeston Police Saturday in the arrest of 33-year-old Jacob Johnson of Cissna Park.  Johnson led Hoopeston officers on a chase from Vermilion County into Wellington at speeds exceeding 120 mph. Johnson eventually lost control and struck a garage at 416 E. 1st South Street.  

Sheriff's Police reported Johnson fled on foot but was taken into custody a few blocks from the accident scene.  Neigher Johnson nor a passenger were injured.

Cissna Park and Milford Polcie assisted in Wellington.  Johnson had lead Cissna Park Police in a similiar pursuit as hed fled from a traffic stop on Friday.  He had not yet been arrested in that incident.

Johnson is charged with aggravated fleeing & alluding, reckless conduct, speeding and disobeying stop signs.  He faces similiar charges in Vermilion County.
