A December 16th sentencing date is now set in Iroquois County for a Cissna Park man facing a prison sentence ranging from six to 60 years. 59-year-old Rodney Hamrick was recently convicted of his sixth driving under the influence offense.
As WGFA News reported (last weekend)...an Iroquois County jury found Hamrick guilty of aggravated DUI - a Class X felony; aggravated driving with a revoked license, a Class 4 felony; and leaving the scene of a traffic accident involving property damage.
The charges resulted from a traffic accident in June of 2009 on Illinois Route 49, about two miles south of Cissna Park. The accident was in a construction zone.
Testimony was presented by construction zone workers and a state police trooper.
State's Attorney Jim Devine said the conviction was Hamrick's sixth DUI offense and fourth driving on a revoked license offense. Hamrick faces a minimum of 180 days in the county jail for driving on a revoked license and six to 60 years in state prison for aggravated DUI, according to truth-in-sentencing guidelines.
