Power outages were reported in some communities Thursday after high winds took down lines and tree limbs.  Kankakee, Manteno, Peotone and northern parts of Iroquois County reported interuptions in service.  The National Weather Service reported winds at 45-50 mph.  A wind advisory was in effect until 6 pm.

The Illinois State Police say the high winds pushed at least two semi trucks on their sides, one on I-55 and the other on I-72. Forecasters say the winds should be a bit calmer today.
