Rep. Kate Cloonen has been declared the winner of the 79th District House seat in Illinois. Republican challenger Glenn Nixon has conceded the 2014 race.

Provisional ballots now counted, Cloonen's victory is by a 121 vote margin

The Cloonen win assures House Speaker Mike Madigan and the Democrats a super-majority in the state House.

The hotly-contested race was a repeat of the 2012 election, also won by Cloonen by a mere 91 votes.
Cloonen was up by 12 votes on Election Day, but provisional and late absentee ballots were still out. They were counted on Tuesday.
