'Celebrating 50 Years of Empowerment and Excellence through Education.''

That's the theme for the East Central Illinois Community Action Agency which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. A Corporate Gala and Dinner is next Friday, March 13th.

A Danville native and esteemed educator will serve as the keynote presenter. Dr. "Reg" Weaver is currently vice president of Education International, a group representing nearly 30 million teachers and education workers in 172 countries. Weaver recently completed two terms as president of the National Education Association.

A silent auction will also be held as part of the event which is open to the public. Tickets are available.
