Consolidated Election Tuesday

Today (Monday) is the last day for early voting for Tuesday’s consolidated election. But grace period registration and voting are still allowed. Voters across Illinois are considering candidates for some city councils or school board seats among other local taxing bodies, including township government positions and also library board seats. The governor signed a measure Friday that expands vote-by-mail and curbside voting for all future elections.

County election offices are open for early voting thru the close of business today (Monday).  Polls are open for regular votingt Tuesday beginning at 6 am.  Mayoral races are popular on local ballots.  Six such contested races appear on the Iroquois County ballots.  Several aldermanic and trustee races are on local ballots.  There are mayor contests in Kankakee, Bradley and Bourbonnais.  The Watseka school district poses the referendum question for $17-million to be coupled with a grant to build a new school buildng outside the city flood zone.
