Motorists are slowed today in Champaign after a construction worker was hit and killed along I-74.  It happened in the eastbound lanes, near milepost 179, according to State police reports.  A pickup truck pulling a trailer hit the worker in an active construction zone.  The worker was pronounced dead at the scene.  Traffic is being rerouted.  Motorists should expect delays for several hours.
