Chicago police have escaped killer Kamron Taylor in custody. The 23-year-old, who was on the run the last three days, was chased down by a couple of Chicago beat-patrolman Friday night on the city's south side.

After escaping from the Kankakee County Detention Center early Wednesday, Taylor kept some 50 officers on the job around the clock searching for him. He was found in possession of a .38 caliber handgun, believed stolen from a jail guard he overpowered in his escape from the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

A reward had been increased to $25,000 for information leading to his capture.

Taylor, considered armed and dangerous, was found walking in the 9200-block of South Stony Island. Police responded to reports of a suspicious person around 9 pm, according to Chicago Police. As police approached, Taylor allegedly fled and was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.

The, Kankakee County Sheriff Tim Bukowski said at a Saturday morning press conference, the pieces came together. Chicago Police called Kankakee County authorities and it was a tattoo on Taylor and a fingerprint that confirmed his identity.

Chicago officers Matt Kozlovski and Oberrian Montilla are credited with Taylor's arrest.
