In Newton Superior Court (Thursday).... 25-year-old Derek Cardosi was given a life term with no parole. Cardosi was sentenced for the August 2016 stabbing deaths of three people he lived with in Sumava Resort. Cardosi was convicted by a Newton County jury.

A second defendant, Sebastian Wedding of Cedar Lake, IN, is already serving a 55-year prison term. He pleaded guilty earlier.
