Corbett signs buyout agreement; search underway for new F-I Public Health administrator

Former Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department administrator Doug Corbett has signed off on an agreement, which authorizes a buyout of his contract.

Now, the health department board can begin its search for a new administrator. A search for an interim administrator is underway.

The health board was informed Monday Corbett had signed the buyout agreement.

The buyout agreement provides Corbett with $14,852 — which is the remainder of his salary from October 1 through November 30. That was the contract date Corbett's employment contract expired.

Corbett will also be awarded payment for remaining vacation hours and he'll continue to receive his medical insurance benefits through Nov. 30.

The two county board chairmen and the health department board still need to sign off on the agreement.

The health board agreed to buy out the remainder of Corbett's contract, after allegations of unprofessional conduct and unlawful behavior by Corbett were disclosed in public meetings over the past several months.
