Coronavirus Pandemic closes ECICAA sites

The East Central Illinois Community Action Agency is among the service organizations affected by the coronavirus threat. Head-Start programs in several locations are shut down until March 31st. Included are Head-Start home-based programs.

Gov. JB Pritzker ordered all public and private schools in Illinois to close for nearly two weeks, starting today (Tuesday 3/17). Effective immediately, there is to be no Head Start or Early Head Start program in session.
Service sites in Watseka, Gilman, Paxton, Gibson City, Hoopeston and Danville and Westville are affected.

All ECICAA locations, including the Administration Office on 56 N. Vermilion Street in Danville, will be closed to foot traffic until March 30. Any existing LIHEAP, CSBG, and Weatherization appointments in Vermilion, Ford, and Iroquois counties will be conducted by remote communication. The VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program will be suspended until March 31, 2020.
