If you're doing business at Courthouses in Kankakee or Watseka, a mask must be worn by all visitors. Chief Judge Michael D. Kramer entered an Administrative Order effective last Thursday (August 5, 2021), which requires all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, to wear masks in all public indoor spaces in the courthouse. These updated guidelines have been made following the recommendations of the State of Illinois, Illinois Department of Public Health and Kankakee County Health Department.
“We have worked closely with the Kankakee County Health Department to ensure that we have safeguards in place to protect the health and safety of everyone in the courthouse." said Kramer. “The COVID-19 infection rates have increased to a level that court operations needed to include the reinstatement of mask wearing in order to protect the health and safety of the public, circuit court judges, and court employees.
The Order states officials will continue to monitor the COVID situation.
