COVID cases reported at Kankakee County Jail

Several inmates at the Jerome Combs Detention Center in Kankakee have been hit with symptoms of Coronavirus. The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department reports a single housing unit is dealing with a COVID outbreak. The effected inmates have been quarantined.

At the Pontiac Correctional Center, an inmates in his 40’s has died of COVID-19. Livingston County health officials are monitoring the situation. As of Tuesday, the county health department has had 2,922 confirmed cases. Fifty-five individuals have died from the visus.

The Lake County Jail at Waukegan also is monitoring COVID cases with inmates. There’s been 53 active cases.
