Crescent-Iroquois Fire District recognizes Jim Ward

Most people recognize Jim Ward as 'Mayor Jim Ward.'  But the mayor has worn several hats over the years.  And as a 56+ year resident of Crescent City, there's few, if any, who don't know Jim Ward.  Maybe one of those bronze statues outside Village Hall is next ?

Ward retired as Mayor of Crescent City after 28 years.  That's seven terms, if counting.  Leadership at its best !  And let no one forget, wife Sharon is always right there playing a leading role too.  Jim & Sharon Ward are a team, ambassadors for Crescent City and Iroquois County.

Jim was recently honored for 43 years with the Crescent-Iroquois Fire Protection District.  He served as secretary and secretary-treasurer.  The fire district works hand-in-hand with the Crescent-Iroquois EMS and Jim doesn't hesitate to tell news correspondent Kim Rabe how important all the volunteers roles are making it all work.  Jim has also served as a board member for the Iroquois County Red Cross, stepping up so often to assist disaster victims.  Over the years, Jim Ward has been an advocate toward emergency operations throughout Iroquois County.

Stepping away from the Fire District's daily operations, Ward also acknowledges the fire chiefs he was honored to work under in building a solid community response team.
