CSL donates $100,000 to support Kankakee County to aid in tornado recovery

CSL Behring of Bourbonnais  the biopharma company that employs hundreds of people in Kankakee County, has donated $100,000 to the Emergency Response Fund of Kankakee and Iroquois Counties to support recovery efforts after the tornado on March 10.

In a press release from the medical manufacturing company, the Vice-President of Manufacturing Jose Campos stated, "Our hearts are with the families and individuals who were impacted by the devasating storms.  Kankakee is our home and we're committed to standing alongside our community as recovery efforts continue."

CSL’s manufacturing site has been in Kankakee since 1954, and employs more than 1,200 people. It provides scalable and sustainable capabilities to manufacture medicines for patients who rely on plasma-derived therapies.

The Emergency Response Fund is a partnership between the United Way of Kankakee & Iroquois Counties and the Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley. It provides funding to local non-profit organizations, and CSL’s donation will ensure resources are available for residents with urgent needs, according to the news release.

This includes emergency supplies and temporary support services, along with long-term recovery efforts to rebuild and restore the community.
