Danville man faces weapons charge

24-yr-old Terrance Morris remains jailed in Iroquois County. Bond was set Friday at $10,000 for the Danville man. He was arrested Friday morning by Iroquois County Sheriff’s deputies on a traffic stop for speeding. An odor of burnt cannabis led to a vehicle search and police found a handgun in a backpack. Morris then fled to a cornfield. Hoopeston Police assisted deputies in getting Morris to surrender.

Charges include Resisting a Police Officer, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and defacing the I.D. on the weapon.
