A 35-year-old man has died in the first shooting in Danville this year. Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden identifies the victim as 35-year-old Jose Pacheco of Danville.
The Coroner and Danville Police are investigating.

Emergency personnel responded to the 400-block of Avenue A in Vermilion Heights at 9:15 Monday night. Police found the victim laying a yard with a gunshot wound to the back. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
