Dead birds wanted for West Nile Testing

Iroquois County and other county health departments are asking the public to help with the collection of dead birds for West Nile testing.  It's time for the West Nile Virus.  Testing requires dead birds to be collected.  Health departments welcome collected birds now thru October 15.  A limited number of dead birds are needed for adequate testing. Crows and Blue Jays are preferred but Finches, Sparrows and Robins will also be accepted. Birds submitted must have been dead for no more than 24 hours with no sign of trauma or decomposing.  Questions can be directed to county health officials.
