Bradley Police are working a death investigation along with Illinois State Police crime scene technicians after an 18-year-old woman was found dead inside a home Monday.
The Kankakee County Coroner's Office has scheduled an autopsy. Coroner Bob Gessner, who was at the scene Monday in the 100-block of South Madison Avenue, said it may be weeks before toxicology tests are known.
Speculation from onlookers indicated a possible drug overdose.
Bradley Police Chief Steven Coy stated in a press release that officers were dispatched to the residence at 1:40 pm for a juvenile-related complaint.
The female victim was found on a couch and appeared unresponsive. Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Chief Coy released a statement saying, "There is no indication of any threat or potential harm to the community."
No arrests have been made in connection to the 18-year-old woman's death. However, 37-year-old Shawana N. Green was arrested for possession of hypodermic needles and heroin when she came to the home about 6 pm.
