The discovery of an abandoned vehicle has led to a death investigation in rural Kankakee County. The body of 50-year-old Jesus Ayala of Momence was found in a field early today (Thursday) in Aroma Township. The Count Coroner’s Office is investigating. An autopsy is expected.  A sheriff deputy on routine patrol came across an abandoned vehicle. Following a trail of blood, the deputy found the victim’s body in a field near 3500 E. The cause of death is part of the investigation.
