Defense seeks delay in murder trial

A former Cullom woman charged with murder is seeking another delay in the start of her upcoming trial.

30-year-old Heather LaMie (Luh-ME), who now lives in Kankakee, is accused of killing her foster-child, four-year-old Kianna Rudisill. An autopsy revealed the girl died of non-accidental injuries.

In Ford County Circuit Court this week, the defense attorney representing LaMie again asked the court to delay a scheduled October 21 trial date. It's the second time the defense asked for a delay saying they need more time to review evidence.
