The Carroll County, Indiana Clerk's Office reports the murder trial of Richard Allen cost the county taxpayers over $1- million. The Courts made the figure public in April.
Allen was found guilty last November of 2-counts of murder for the deaths of 13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-old Liberty German. The girls' bodies were discovered near the Monon High Bridge in Delphi in 2017, a day after they were reported missing.
Allen received a 130-year sentence in December. An appeal was officially filed on March 11.
