Deputy cleared in Indiana police shooting

A sheriff deputy involved in a law enforcement shooting will not be charged. This ruling stems from a case in Wolcott (IN). The White County Prosecutors Office has determined the deputy involved “acted appropriately” in saving his own life and others when the subject of an arrest warrant opened fire on officers.
56-year-old Terry Boyd was killed June 15. Officers had gone to Boyd’s home to serve an arrest warrant. When police arrived, Boyd retreated into his home. When officers entered, gunfire was exchanged. One officer was wounded. Boyd died of injuries after he was shot.
