Illinois State Police (ISP) District 21 is reporting the arrest of and Ashley A. Phillips, 27, of Kankakee for DUI Alcohol and Terrance M. Lease, 32, of Watseka for DUI Drugs.
A single vehicle crash with injuries on I-57 southbound in Kankakee County led to a DUI arrest. Ashley Phillips showed signs of alcohol impairment when talking with a trooper at the hospital. Phillips was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and issued citations for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
A State Trooper was dispatched to a traffic crash with injuries on US 24 at IL RT 49 in Iroquois County. The trooper arrived at the hospital and spoke with the driver, 32-yr-old Terrance Lease. Lease showed signs of drug impairment. Lease was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Lease was also issued citations for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Indiana State Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an improper headlight Saturday on U.S. 12 at the Porter/Lake County Line. After giving the trooper two false names, the defendant then identified himself as 27-yr-old Diondray Gill of Gary, Indiana. Mr. Gill admitted to having multiple warrants and that he did not have a valid driver's license. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a loaded Taurus .22LR handgun under the driver’s seat.. Gill stated that he had the weapon for his personal protection. Gill was arrested for Identity Deception level 6 felony, False Information, driving without a license, possession of a handgun without a license, Gill also had three outstanding warrants, one being for Kidnapping/criminal confinement with a nationwide extradition, and two local warrants from the Gary Police Department. Gill was transported and remanded to the Porter County Jail without incident. A female passenger was released from the scene without any charges.
