WHITE COUNTY, Ind. - Conservation officers said they recovered the body of a 22-year-old man from Lake Shafer in White County around 2:15 a.m. Thursday.
Dive teams found the body of Okeen Rashawn Daley in six feet of water near the area of "green can," which is just feet from where witnesses said they last saw him. Conservation officers said Daley was from Jamaica, but was currently working at Indiana Beach.
Investigators said 13 people were on board a pontoon boat around 7 o'clock Wednesday evening when they stopped in a shallow area. A few of them jumped into the lake, but Daley went off into deeper water without a life jacket on.
Authorities said that's the last time he was seen.
Divers from the Monticello and Buffalo Fire Departments, the White County Sheriff's Office, and the Department of Natural Resources responded to the scene.
Officers said no foul play was involved. The exact cause of death will be determined after an autopsy has been performed.
