The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. FOUNDATION of KANKAKEE COUNTY is hosting holiday observances in honor of the slain civil rights leader. The legal holiday is observed Monday. But activities today (Sat) and Sunday will precede Monday’s holiday observance.
An Open House today (Sat) is at the Kankakee Public Library 12 Noon ‘til 4 pm. Film screenings, guest readings, and children’s activities will be held in the 4th Floor Conference Room
A 4 pm Gospel Fest at the House of Prayer Church of God on E. Court Street in Kankakee is schedule for Sunday.
Monday’s events include the Annual Prayer Breakfast at 7:30 am at the Quality Inn in Bradley. A Motorcade then heads to the Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Kankakee.
