The communities of Danville and Momence are hosting weekend events as part of ‘Drivin’ the Dixie.”  The annual event features vintage car owners cruising famous Dixie Highway (Illinois Route 1) from Danville up to Island Park in Momence.

The Vermilion County Museum Society welcomes people of all ages to explore East-Central Illinois.
 
The drive starts at 10 am Saturday at the corner of North and Vermilion Street in Danville, and drivers of vintage to modern vehicles can proceed up the Dixie Highway to Island Park in Momence.
 
Cars can be registered for the car show at Danville’s Village Mall parking lot from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. In addition to the car show, mall merchants are offering specials.
 
Registration for the drive is free, and participants may register Saturday between 9:00 and 9:45 a.m. in the Danville City Hall Parking lot at the Corner of Main and Walnut.
