The U.S. Drought Monitor has updated numbers today (Thurs) ---and there’s concern about the dry conditions in both Ford and Iroquois County.
30% of Iroquois County is in “Extreme Drought” condition. 42% is considered “Severe Drought” and the rest of Iroquois County is in “Moderate Drought.”
In Ford County --- the Monitor Site reports 80% of the area is in “Extreme Drought” The other 20% is in “Severe or Moderate Drought.”
Ten (10%) of Kankakee County is in “Moderate Drought” and 65% is labeled as “Abnormally Dry” and 25% is without any drought worries at all.
In Indiana --- all of Benton County is listed at in “Severe Drought,” 10% of Newton County is listed “Severe Drought” and 60% Moderate while 10% is Abnormally Dry.
Jasper County has about 8% in “Severe Drought… 40% is Moderate Drought…. 30% Abnormally Dry.
