A traffic accident in a construction zone injured a worker in Kankakee County last (Thurs) night. And a driver is facing a DUI charge.

27-year-old Keon Singleton of Kankakee is jailed at the Jerome Combs Detention Center. He’s been arrested for Aggravated Driving under the Influence, Failure to Reduce Speed, and Obstructing Justice.

Authoriites said Singleton refused to take a breathalizer test.

Bradley Police report an unidentified construction worker was hit by a vehicle in the construction zone at Illinois Route 50 at 5000 N Road about 10:40 pm. The crash seriously injured the construction worker, who was taken to an area hospital.

Illinois State Police also had a Reconstruction Team at the scene.
